The ECOCAMPING award
The ECOCAMPING award is open to all campsites that are willing and able to meet the ECOCAMPING criteria and undergo the certification process. The ECOCAMPING award is only granted to campsites that can demonstrate that they meet the ECOCAMPING criteria and have undergone a successful independent external audit.
The Process
The path to ECOCAMPING certification includes:
- Registration for ECOCAMPING certification.
- Preparation and implementation of ECOCAMPING criteria in the business.
- On-site audit by an independent, external auditor.Certification decision by the ECOCAMPING e.V. certification body based on the audit report and awarding of the certification upon proven fulfillment of the criteria.
- Regular review as part of follow-up audits (every 3 years) and further development of environmental and sustainability management.
Independent External Audit
Compliance with ECOCAMPING criteria is verified by independent external auditors. The requirements for the qualifications and independence of auditors are determined by an independent advisory board; auditors are approved by the ECOCAMPING e.V. certification body on this basis.
Violations
Violations of the ECOCAMPING criteria may result in conditions being imposed, suspension or withdrawal of the award, depending on their severity. Details of rights and obligations, including regulations on sanctions, are set out in the licence agreement.
Independent system monitoring
The ECOCAMPING certification system is monitored by an independent advisory board, which ensures compliance with legal requirements, impartiality and the quality of the certification system. For more information, please visit the Independent Committee page.

AWARD
Following successful certification by EOCAMPING e.V., the ECOCAMPING award is presented to the campsite operator.
ECOCAMPING LOGO
After successful certification, you are entitled to use the ECOCAMPING logo. This right is bound to a valid licence agreement with ECOCAMPING e.V.

How to keep the ECOCAMPING certificate
The demonstrable and continuous implementation of improvement measures is essential for the validity of the certificate

ECOCAMPING Network
Regardless of the certification path you choose, once you have successfully passed the audit, you will receive the ECOCAMPING award and, under a licence agreement, will be entitled to use the logo and participate in the ECOCAMPING network and its services. This allows you to benefit from a continuous exchange of experiences, events, training courses and the ongoing development of your sustainability management.
